Belmont Recruitment is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a Primary School in Ellesmere Port. You will support learning across the curriculum, assist teachers, and help create a warm, inclusive classroom where every student can thrive.

This in-person, full-time role focuses on learners with diverse abilities, including those needing additional support. You will work closely with educators and families to promote academic progress, social development, and confidence.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children in educational or caregiving settings.
  • Knowledge of special education strategies and experience supporting individuals with disabilities or autism.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with students, teachers, and families.
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods creatively to meet diverse learning styles and needs.
  • Proven tutoring or mentoring skills that foster motivation and academic success.
  • Creative writing skills to develop engaging lesson content and activities.
  • Compassionate attitude with a passion for helping students succeed academically and socially.

Responsibilities

  • Assist teachers in delivering classroom instruction tailored to individual student needs, including those with disabilities or autism.
  • Support students during lessons, activities, and transitions to ensure a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere.
  • Provide one-on-one tutoring and mentoring to reinforce learning concepts and build student confidence.
  • Implement creative writing exercises and other engaging activities to stimulate student creativity and communication skills.
  • Monitor student behavior, provide encouragement, and promote social interaction among peers.
  • Collaborate with educators and specialists to develop personalized learning plans for students requiring additional support.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress, behavior incidents, and activity participation.
