Camden STEAM is our high-profile partnership bringing together schools, employers and communities to prepare young people for the future of work across science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics. We’re looking for an Inclusive Pathways and Participation Manager to help ensure that young people from under-represented groups and those who may face barriers to participation can access meaningful work experience, industry placements and employer-led opportunities. You’ll work closely with employers, schools, specialist education settings and services across Camden to create high-quality, inclusive opportunities. A key part of your role will be supporting young people who may require additional or tailored support, including care-experienced young people, young people in the Youth Justice System, young people with SEND and EHCPs, young carers, disabled young people, school non-attenders and those at risk of becoming NEET. You’ll build strong relationships with employers and help them develop inclusive placement practices, while working with schools and partners to identify young people, remove barriers and provide the right support before, during and after placements. You’ll also contribute to the continued growth of Camden STEAM’s work experience programme and our wider ambition to increase high-quality employer-led opportunities across the borough. This is an exciting opportunity to combine partnership working, programme delivery and specialist inclusion expertise to make a tangible difference to young people’s progression and future employment opportunities.
You’ll be a proactive and collaborative professional with experience of developing inclusive education, careers or employment opportunities for young people. You’ll bring a strong understanding of the barriers facing young people with SEND and those from under-represented groups, alongside experience of working across education, transition and employment pathways. You’ll be confident building relationships across schools, employers and public services and have experience of coordinating work experience, industry placements or other employer-led programmes. You’ll also be able to influence stakeholders at different levels, including senior industry leaders, and turn partnerships into meaningful opportunities for young people. Strong project and programme management skills will be essential, as will excellent communication skills and a genuine commitment to inclusive opportunity and improving outcomes for young people.
