Job summary

GEM Partnership is seeking an SEND and Inclusion Learning Support Trainer to deliver tailored support to adult learners (19+) on short pre-employment courses across various centres.

You will provide 1:1 and small-group support, adapt learning materials, assist with ESOL and literacy needs, maintain accurate progress records, and work with tutors to remove barriers to progression and support learners’ wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting adults or young people with SEND or additional learning needs.
• Strong communication, patience, and empathy.
• Ability to simplify tasks and provide clarity to learners with low confidence.
• Good literacy and numeracy skills.
• Ability to build rapport with diverse learners.
• Desirable: experience in adult education or ESFA compliance knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support during classroom and practical sessions.
• Adapt learning materials and support differentiation during lessons.
• Help learners complete written tasks and assessments with evidence.
• Support initial screening and ongoing assessment of support needs.
• Maintain records of learner support and progress.
• Uphold safeguarding and health & safety policies.
