Job summary

Walsall Council is seeking an Inclusion Officer for The Virtual School to improve life chances for vulnerable children and young people. The role involves working with schools to support SEN and exclusions processes and collaborating with Lifelong Learning teams to challenge and support educational outcomes.

The post requires enhanced DBS clearance where applicable, and candidates should be prepared to provide an Overseas Criminal Records Certificate (OCRC) or a Statement of Good Conduct for

Qualifications

• Experience of working with schools and education settings.
• Understanding of SEN and exclusions processes.
• Awareness of challenges facing vulnerable children in education, especially those with a social worker.

Responsibilities

• Improve life chances of vulnerable children and young people.
• Collaborate with Lifelong Learning teams to provide challenge and support to schools and key partners.
• Raise awareness and help remove barriers to engagement in education via Family Help and Social Care.
