Job summary

Alignerr is seeking an Incident Response Analyst (AI Training) to evaluate AI-generated responses to security events from a real-world SOC perspective. This remote, hourly contract role offers flexible scheduling and a chance to influence AI-driven threat detection for leading research collaborations.

You will analyze incidents, critique AI detection logic, and provide expert feedback while working independently on a freelance basis with 10–40 hours per week.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years hands-on experience in SOC operations, incident response, or security engineering.
  • Proficient with SIEM platforms, alert queues, and digital investigation tools.
  • Able to articulate reasoning clearly in written form.
  • Detail-oriented and comfortable working through realistic, complex scenarios.

What You'll Do

Who You Are
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience in SOC operations, incident response, or security engineering
  • Proficient with SIEM platforms, alert queues, and digital investigation tools
  • Skilled at cutting through noise to identify genuine threats and meaningful indicators
  • Able to articulate your reasoning clearly in written form
  • Detail-oriented and comfortable working through realistic, complex scenarios
Nice to Have
  • Experience with threat hunting, malware analysis, or forensic investigation
  • Familiarity with MITRE ATT&CK, detection engineering, or playbook development
  • Background in cloud security, endpoint detection, or network forensics
  • Prior experience evaluating or working with AI systems
