Job summary

Public Services Delivery Scotland (PSD Scotland) is seeking an IRIC Specialist to join NHS Scotland Assure. You will coordinate adverse incident investigations involving medical devices, estates and PPE, applying root cause analysis and risk assessment.

Based in Edinburgh or Glasgow, you will work hybrid, with travel across Scotland and occasional UK trips, collaborating with NHS Boards, regulators and suppliers to turn findings into safety improvements.

Qualifications

• Experience in healthcare, governance, or quality improvement.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and work with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and conduct adverse incident investigations.
• Gather and analyse evidence to understand what happened and why.
• Apply investigation techniques, root cause analysis and risk assessment.
• Collaborate with clinical, technical and professional specialists to develop safety recommendations.
• Prepare investigation reports, safety alerts, and guidance.
• Support investigations into serious incidents, including fatalities.
• Promote learning and prevention across Scotland's health and social care services.
