Job summary

UK Atomic Energy Authority seeks a Structural Integrity Engineer to join the In-Vessel Engineering team, developing design criteria and integrity assessment methods for future fusion power plants.

The role requires strong experience in finite element analysis, design substantiation, and multidisciplinary collaboration. You will lead work packages, manage design substantiation, and help deliver high-quality reports and proposals.

Qualifications

• PhD or equivalent in solid mechanics, engineering science, or related field.
• Strong knowledge of design criteria, codes and integrity assessment methodologies.
• Experience in structural modeling and engineering design.

Responsibilities

• Lead work packages on in-vessel systems from concept to detailed design and integrity assessment.
• Coordinate resources and budgets to deliver technical activities on time.
• Prepare and present technical documentation and reports; support bids and proposals.
