Job summary

University of Manchester seeks a researcher to lead advanced STEM/TEM studies on beam-sensitive electrocatalytic materials. The role involves ex-situ characterization and supporting the development of in-situ TEM capabilities for real-time visualization of catalysts under operating conditions.

You will work with the electron microscopy center in the Nancy Rothwell Building and NGI, using 4D-STEM, STEM-EELS, and Python-based data analysis tools, with Protochips Poseidon holder for

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in STEM characterization of beam-sensitive materials.
• Experience acquiring 4D-STEM and STEM-EELS data.
• Experience with TEM/STEM image processing and open-source Python tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform ex-situ characterization of electrocatalytic materials using STEM/TEM.
• Support development of in-situ TEM capabilities for real-time visualization.
• Utilize Protochips Poseidon holder for electrochemical experiments.
