Main duties and responsibilities
  • To be responsible for the smooth and effective running of the day-to-day operation of the Room Service Department, thereby ensuring that established Maybourne, Forbes and LQA standards of performance are maintained by the entire team and that satisfaction of the guests is achieved.
  • To be fully conversant with all menus served via Room Service.
  • To foster a culture of continuous innovation and drive results through a continuous evolution of product and service.
  • To create superior content for marketing communication channels.
  • To be fully aware of the Food and Beverage outlets and offering throughout the hotel.
  • To ensure that guests' profiles are maintained, adding relevant information for future stays.
  • To establish a system and checking procedure that ensures that all special requests are in the room prior to arrival with all of the required amenities.
  • To oversee any allocation changes to ensure that rooms are checked and ready on arrival of guests.
  • To ensure of the preparation of the appropriate mise en place at all times to enable the In-Room Dining Department to operate smoothly.
  • To ensure the cleanliness of the basement pantry and floor pantries is kept to a high standard.
  • To ensure that the cleanliness of the Room Service equipment including trolleys, hot boxes, floor spaces, surfaces and all mise en place are kept in line with the required The Berkeley standards.
  • To be familiar of the layout of all Mini Bar of all guests' rooms; tidy at all times and that stock is rotated accordingly and date checked.
  • To handle guest complaints, of both a positive and negative nature, appropriately and professionally, and to record them in the Handover book.
  • To work closely with colleagues in other departments especially Back of House, Housekeeping and Front Desk to fulfil guest requirements.
  • To ensure the department maintain a high standard of personal hygiene and appearance at all times and that items of uniform provided are cared for an in good repair.
  • To assist other Food and Beverage outlets as directed by the F&B Manager.
