Job summary

Lings Bar Hospital, part of Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, is recruiting for a Staff Nurse on the in-patient wards. This fixed-term maternity cover is 30 hours per week for one year, working on a ward that supports people with complex, long-term conditions and rehabilitation needs.

You will lead discharge planning with a multidisciplinary team, provide high-quality patient care, and support student nurses. NMC registration and a degree-level nursing qualification are essential.

Qualifications

• Professional nursing qualification to degree level or equivalent.
• Current NMC registration.
• Clinical expertise satisfactory for the banding.

Responsibilities

• Plan and lead patient care from admission to discharge on the in-patient wards.
• Lead complex discharge planning and ongoing community care with allied health professionals and medical teams.
• Provide high-level, patient-focused care for people with complex long-term conditions.
• Admit patients from acute services and community step-up.
• Provide 24/7 nursing care across the ward.
• Manage patients with complex conditions and multiple pathologies using clinical knowledge and creativity.
• Use professional decision making and complex care management skills.
• Support student nurses and trainee nurse associates.
• Develop skills across a wide range of long-term physical conditions.
