Job summary

Proximity Recruitment Ltd. is seeking a hands-on Cyber Security Engineer for a leading fintech firm based near Northampton. The role offers circa GBP60,000–GBP70,000 plus a 15% bonus and benefits, with office-based work five days a week.

You will collaborate with IT operations, development and platform teams, and external security partners to strengthen security controls, manage vulnerabilities, and drive incident response and compliance programs across the organisation.

Qualifications

• 5+ years cyber security experience
• Degree educated in a relevant field
• Based in or able to work in Northamptonshire or commutable area

Responsibilities

• Maintain and improve security controls across identity, endpoint, cloud and applications.
• Review and strengthen security configurations and third‑party integrations.
• Operate vulnerability and exposure-management processes and coordinate remediation.
• Investigate security alerts and incidents; maintain incident‑response procedures.
• Produce security risk, incident and remediation reports; support audits and compliance activities.
