Job summary

SaccoMann in Manchester is seeking an experienced Insurance Lawyer for an in-house role defending a diverse portfolio of litigated claims including EL/PL, Personal Injury, Property Damage and Regulatory matters.

This 13-month FTC role offers oversight of the claims team and the opportunity to develop strategic legal responses, with potential for permanent placement. You will advise on risk, attend hearings, and guide negotiations in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Qualified solicitor with 6+ years in defendant litigation, particularly EL/PL claims.
• Proven ability to develop proactive legal strategies aligned with business objectives.
• Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the confidence to negotiate effectively at all levels.
• Experience in managing or overseeing a team is desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Developing and implementing case strategies in collaboration with external legal teams, experts, and internal stakeholders
• Assessing risk exposure and advising on legal liabilities
• Providing legal support on litigation matters, attending court hearings, and representing the organisation in negotiations, settlements, and trials
• Ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory standards, maintaining detailed case files, and reporting to senior management
• Working closely with internal teams to ensure seamless communication and case handling
