Softcat plc in Manchester is seeking a commercial solicitor to join its in-house Legal team. You will provide pragmatic, commercial, jargon-free advice on customer and supplier contracts, including data processing provisions.

Based in our friendly Manchester office with hybrid working, you will review, draft, and negotiate contracts, support training, and help develop precedents to support colleagues across the business.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in commercial law and practical experience with customer and supplier contracts.
• Experience advising on data protection provisions and data processing/sharing agreements.
• Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage a own caseload with limited supervision.

Responsabilités

• Reviewing and negotiating customer contracts based on amendments to our standard terms or customer terms and conditions
• Reviewing and negotiating supplier and distributor contracts
• Creating bespoke contracts where required e.g. referral agreements
• Advising on AOR and other credit arrangements
• Delivering contract and mandatory regulatory training to account managers and the supplier/partner management team
• Providing ad hoc legal advice e.g. trademark queries and advice on termination of contracts
• Supporting members of the team
• Supporting the development of our precedents and process improvements
