Job summary

Softcat plc in Manchester is seeking a Public Sector Solicitor to join our in-house legal team. You'll work on commercial contracts, data processing provisions and provide practical legal advice to colleagues across the business.

You should be England and Wales qualified with 1–3 PQE, have strong contract negotiation skills, and enjoy developing precedents and training others. We support flexible working and a collaborative culture.

Qualifications

Solicitor qualified in England and Wales with 1-3 PQE.
Experience drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts.
Experience advising on data protection provisions.
In-house experience or understanding of in-house legal challenges.

Responsibilities

Reviewing and negotiating public sector customer contracts.
Reviewing and negotiating supplier and distributor contracts.
Creating bespoke contracts where required e.g. referral agreements.
Advising on AOR and other credit arrangements.
Delivering contract and regulatory training to account managers and partner management.
Providing ad hoc legal advice (e.g. trademark queries).
Supporting more junior members of the team.
Supporting the development of precedents and process improvements.
