Job summary

Dewis Centre for Independent Living in Pontyclun seeks a friendly, reliable Personal Assistant to support a young man at home. You will provide daily living assistance, personal care and privacy-respecting help with mobility equipment.

The position is 17.5 hours per week, across seven days, with morning, lunchtime and bedtime calls. Pay is £15.35 per hour, monthly, with DBS check, NI number and pro rata holiday.

Qualifications

• Friendly, reliable; able to use initiative.
• Experience or training with ceiling track hoists preferred.
• Comfortable with personal care tasks and home environment.
• Willing to undergo DBS check and provide references.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe support with manual handling using a hoist and sling.
• Assist transfers to and from wheelchair and shower chair.
• Assist with dressing and personal care, toileting and meals.
• Keep the bedroom clean and tidy and ensure safety at all times.
