Job summary

Kinetic plc is recruiting two Improver / Semi-Skilled Sheet Metal Assemblers to join an established engineering workshop in North Manchester. The roles focus on sheet metal fabrication and assembly, working with ducting, cabinets and bespoke fabrications using modern machinery.

Shifts are Days; pay £14.48 per hour with overtime after 38 hours. This temporary-to-permanent opportunity offers a modern working environment and a chance to develop fabrication and engineering skills within a supportive

Qualifications

• Experience with sheet metal fabrication or assembly.
• Experience in fabrication, assembly, ducting, cabinets or bespoke metalwork.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Good practical and fabrication skills.
• Experience using workshop tools and equipment.
• Willing to learn and develop additional engineering skills.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work on own initiative.
• Willing to work overtime when required.

Responsibilities

• Cut sheet metal to size using saws, lasers, plasma cutters and guillotines.
• Bend and form sheet metal into required shapes.
• Build and assemble fabricated components.
• Perform general sheet metal assembly and fabrication.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Use a range of hand tools and fabrication equipment.
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment.
• Work both independently and as part of a team.

Improver / Semi-Skilled Sheet Metal Assembler

Location: North Manchester

Pay Rate: £14.48 per hour

Overtime: Paid at 1.5x after 38 hours

Job Type: Temporary to Permanent

Kinetic Recruitment are currently looking for 2 x Improver / Semi-Skilled Sheet Metal Assemblers to join an established manufacturing team within a modern engineering workshop in North Manchester.

This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with sheet metal fabrication or assembly experience who are looking to develop their skills and build a long-term career within engineering.

The successful candidates will work with a range of materials and sheet metal components, including ducting, cabinets and bespoke fabrications, using modern machinery and equipment.

The Role

• Cutting sheet metal to size using saws, lasers, plasma cutters and guillotines
• Bending, folding, rolling and pressing sheet metal into the required shapes
• Building and assembling fabricated components
• General sheet metal assembly and fabrication
• Working with a range of material thicknesses, from thin-gauge stainless steel through to heavy-gauge mild steel
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
• Using a variety of hand tools, machinery and fabrication equipment
• Maintaining a safe, clean and efficient working environment
• Working both independently and as part of an established engineering team

About You

• Previous experience working with sheet metal
• Experience in fabrication, assembly, ducting, cabinets or bespoke metalwork
• The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
• Good practical and fabrication skills
• Experience using a range of workshop tools and equipment
• A willingness to learn and develop additional engineering skills
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• The ability to work on your own initiative
• A flexible approach and willingness to work overtime when required
