Our client, who specializes in Freight Forwarding through multimodal services, is currently seeking an Import Customs Entries Clerk for their team based in the SS postcode of Essex. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a progressive and growing company.

The role of the Import Customs Entries Clerk:

You will need at least 2 years of experience in a similar role.

You will be monitoring and tracking the status of customs clearance processes, providing regular updates to internal teams and customers.

Duties of the Import Customs Entries Clerk:

• Complete customs declarations, ensuring all clearance processes (Import and Export) are completed in a timely manner.
• Deal with customer enquiries, providing accurate advice and estimates when required.
• Obtain Bill of Ladings and correct Tariff Headings.
• Liaise with external stakeholders, including customs authorities, freight forwarders, shipping lines, and other regulatory agencies, to ensure proper and timely submission of customs documentation.

Experience required:

• At least 2 years of experience completing customs entries.
• 1 year of import experience.
• Previous experience checking and processing all relevant documentation for shipments. Excellent communication skills.
• Familiarity with working with Freight Forwarders and shipping lines.
• Good understanding of different customs procedures and requirements.

The successful Import Customs Entries Clerk will have strong knowledge and experience of customs clearances, and experience working within the Freight Forwarding or Logistics industry.

You will need to have working knowledge and experience of CDS and be fully conversant with various customs entries.

Knowledge of Destin8, CNS, ETSF, and CCS-UK would be a strong advantage for this role.
