Implementation Engineer

Adyen is seeking Implementation Engineers with a solid understanding of and hands-on experience in technology, integration design, project management, and a strong merchant focus. As an Implementation Engineer, you will be the primary technical contact for our merchant's teams, guiding them through the design, development, testing, and launch of their integrations with Adyen's platform. Your goal will be to ensure an exceptional merchant experience throughout the project lifecycle.

This role offers the opportunity to work on diverse projects involving various payment solutions, including e-commerce, marketplaces, and card issuing programs. By leveraging your technical skills and business insight, you will play a key role in ensuring smooth implementation processes and maintaining open communication with merchants and internal teams. The position is based in our London office, and the ideal candidate is both consultative and technically proficient.

What you'll do:

1. Utilize development and programming expertise to create scalable and robust solutions for merchant integrations, while ensuring adherence to payment best practices.
2. Serve as a consultative partner in specific verticals such as e-commerce, point of sale, and multi-channel platforms, guiding merchants through integration processes.
3. Collaborate with Sales, Account Managers, Product, and Engineering teams to deliver seamless merchant experiences and drive continuous improvement.
4. Use project management and technical consulting skills to oversee high-quality project delivery, ensuring the technical integrity of merchant integrations.
5. Provide consultation on optimizing payment solutions, including checkout experiences, authentication, omni-channel payments, and platform onboarding, working closely with Developers and Product Managers to enhance the platform.

Who you are:

1. At least 2 years of experience integrating with or providing technical consultation for Web APIs.
2. Proven ability to quickly learn new technologies, understand complex systems (APIs, databases, SDKs), and a desire to improve technical skills.
3. Excellent communication skills; comfortable leading meetings with high-level decision makers.
4. Ability to identify pragmatic solutions to complex integration challenges and communicate them clearly.
5. Fluency in English is required.
6. Experience in the payments industry is a significant plus.
