CBRE Group, Inc. is seeking a Water Services Supervisor to manage the water safety, hygiene and compliance across a hospital estate.

You will lead a team of Water Technicians, own the Water Management Programme, and ensure statutory, contractual, and regulatory requirements are implemented to the highest standards. The role requires strong leadership, expertise in ACOP L8, HTM 04-01, and related guidance, plus experience with digital water hygiene systems.

Qualifications

  • City & Guilds Level 3 qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Plumbing, Water Treatment, or equivalent.
  • Legionella Awareness Training.
  • HTM 04-01 RP qualification or willingness to obtain.
  • Strong working knowledge of ACOP L8, HTM 04-01, HSG274, SFG20 and water hygiene legislation.
  • Experience using digital water hygiene management systems such as eLogbooks and ZetaSafe.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, supervise, and develop a team of Water Technicians to deliver safe, compliant water services across the estate.
  • Act as Site Authorised Person (SAP) for water safety, hygiene, and compliance matters.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to operational teams and contractors.

  • Report findings and improvements to senior management and governance forums.
  • Collaborate with engineers, contractors, and client representatives to ensure compliance during design, delivery and handover.

Job Title: Water Services Supervisor
Role Purpose:

The Water Services Supervisor is accountable for the overall management, governance, and performance of all water safety, water hygiene, and water compliance activities across a single hospital estate.

Working with a high degree of autonomy, the postholder will take ownership of the site's water management programme, ensuring all statutory, regulatory, contractual, and operational requirements are implemented, monitored, and maintained to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Leadership, Management & Governance
  • Lead, supervise, and develop a team of Water Technicians to deliver safe, compliant, and effective water services across the estate.
  • Manage all aspects of people leadership, including:
  • Performance management
  • Coaching and mentoring
  • Training and development
  • Succession planning
  • Recruitment activities
  • Disciplinary matters, where required
  • Act as the Site Authorised Person (SAP) for water safety, hygiene, and compliance matters.
  • Provide technical leadership and expert guidance to operational teams and specialist contractors.
  • Contribute as a key member of the site leadership team, ensuring water safety risks and compliance performance are effectively managed and reported.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, ownership, and continuous improvement.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with:

  • Responsible Persons (RPs)

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable legislation, guidance, and industry standards, including:

  • Maintain and review the Water Safety Plan, Written Schemes of Control, and all associated compliance documentation.
  • Develop, implement, and improve:
  • Water hygiene risk assessments
  • Control measures
  • Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) programmes
  • Ensure statutory inspections, monitoring activities, water sampling programmes, and compliance tasks are completed on time and to the required standard.
  • Conduct audits, inspections, and compliance assurance reviews.
  • Report findings, trends, risks, and improvement opportunities to senior management.
  • Lead investigations into:
  • Compliance failures
  • Non-conformances
  • Water-related incidents
  • Implement effective corrective and preventative actions following investigations.
  • Prepare and present compliance reports, performance updates, and technical recommendations to:
  • Water Safety Groups
  • Governance forums
  • Senior stakeholders
  • Operational Management & Service Delivery
  • Manage the day-to-day delivery of water hygiene services across the estate.
  • Ensure all services are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with contractual and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide technical advice and support to operational and maintenance teams.
  • Ensure water management procedures and control measures are consistently applied across the site.
  • Collaborate with project and engineering teams to ensure compliance during:
  • Design and planning
  • Project delivery
  • Commissioning and validation
  • Final handover
  • Prioritise, coordinate, and monitor planned and reactive water hygiene activities to meet agreed service levels.
  • Maintain oversight of:
  • Compliance records

  • Site logbooks

  • Ensure records remain accurate, complete, and audit-ready.
  • Manage specialist contractors and monitor performance against:

  • Lead responses to water-related incidents, outbreaks, and emergency situations.
  • Implement mitigation measures and coordinate safe restoration of services.
  • Develop, maintain, and periodically test contingency and emergency response plans relating to water safety risks.
Qualifications & Experience:
  • City & Guilds Level 3 qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Plumbing, Water Treatment, or an equivalent discipline (preferred).
  • Legionella Awareness Training.
  • HTM 04-01 Responsible Person (RP) qualification or willingness to obtain.
  • Strong working knowledge of:

  • Water hygiene legislation and best practice
Experience using digital water hygiene management systems such as:
