Job summary

Academics in Crawley is seeking an Aspiring Youth Worker/SEN TA to support pupils with SEMH, MLD and autism in a specialist secondary school.

You will assist the class teacher, provide 1:1 and small group support, build trusted relationships, and follow safeguarding guidelines. This role requires right to work in the UK and a willingness to commute to Crawley. Hours are 08:30–15:30, Monday to Friday, term time only; pay £93-£105 per day.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting pupils with SEMH, MLD or Autism.
• Ability to build trusted relationships with pupils.
• Willing to do 1:1 and small group support and work with pupils.
• Follow safeguarding guidelines and implement them in the classroom.
• Attend staff meetings and complete CPD.
• Must have right to work in the UK

Responsibilities

• Assist the class teacher with the learning experience
• Provide dedicated support to pupils with learning, physical, sensory, or behavioural challenges
• Ability to build trusted and effective relationships with the pupils
• Willing to do 1:1 and small group support and work with pupils
• Follow the safeguarding guidelines and implement them in the classroom
• Have good communication and interpersonal skills
• Be a good listener with a compassionate and caring approach
• Needs to attend staff meetings and complete CPD
• Able to commute to Crawley
