Job summary

The Cambian Group is seeking a compassionate residential care worker to support children and young people on a full-time basis. You will plan engaging activities, provide one-on-one support, and accompany youths on off-site trips, building strong relationships in a warm, supportive environment.

Training is provided with two weeks of paid induction, and sleep-ins are compensated with an extra £30 per shift. A DBS check and comprehensive induction are included, with a rota provided four weeks in

Qualifications

• Minimum age 21 years.
• UK driving license preferable but not essential.
• No prior experience required, just passion for working with young people.
• Must be available for sleep-in shifts.
• Enhanced DBS check provided.
• Comprehensive induction and training provided.
• Rota provided 4 weeks in advance.

Responsibilities

• Providing emotional support during challenging times.
• Fostering ambition in young people, assisting them in achieving their goals and maximising their potential.
• Offering support in the educational pursuits of young individuals.
• Maintaining accurate records and preparing written reports for planning meetings, reviews or any other meetings as directed by the line manager.
• Empowering young people to actively participate in decision-making about their lives and future.
• Acting as an advocate in meetings where the young person is the subject of discussion.
• Encouraging community engagement, attending off-site activities, and expanding their personal social networks.
• Meeting the needs of children and young people, organising social activities and maintaining the home (laundry, cooking, cleaning shopping etc.).
