Job summary

Teaching Personnel in Burnley is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support learning and development across the classroom. You will work closely with teachers to assist with lessons and provide a caring learning environment for pupils.

The role involves supporting children with varying needs, maintaining safeguarding standards, and helping to foster positive behaviour and inclusive participation throughout the school day.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children in a school or educational setting.
  • TA Level 2/3 qualification is desirable but not essential.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills are important.

Responsibilities

  • Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and effective lessons.
  • Work with individual pupils and small groups to reinforce learning objectives.
  • Assist in preparing classroom resources and learning materials.
  • Help maintain a positive, safe, and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Encourage pupil participation, independence and confidence in learning.
  • Support children with varying abilities and additional needs when required.
  • Monitor and record pupil progress, providing feedback to the class teacher.
  • Supervise pupils during break times, trips, and school activities as required.
  • Promote positive behaviour and support the school's safeguarding policies.
