Job summary

South Molton United C of E Primary School is seeking a committed Teaching Assistant to join our supportive school team, including nursery provision. You will help pupils’ learning, wellbeing and development within classroom and small-group settings.

Under guidance of teaching staff, you will assist with planning cycles, prepare learning resources and promote positive behaviour while supporting pupils with a range of needs. DBS disclosure is required.

Qualifications

• Experience working with or caring for children of a relevant age.
• Knowledge of safeguarding practice and strategies to remove barriers to learning.
• Strong communication skills, including confidence and fluency in spoken English.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Ability to relate well to both children and adults.

Responsibilities

• Supporting pupils’ welfare and personal care, including those with SEND
• Implementing literacy and numeracy interventions
• Assisting with planning cycles and preparing learning resources
• Promoting positive behaviour and encouraging pupil independence
• Supervision during break/lunchtimes and accompanying pupils on trips when required
