Job summary

Highfield South Farnham School seeks a caring Teaching Assistant to support learning, development and pupil wellbeing. You will work closely with the class teacher to deliver engaging activities for individuals, groups and classes, helping pupils access the curriculum and build confidence.

You will also support literacy and numeracy, monitor progress, prepare resources and promote positive behaviour and inclusion, including supporting pupils with SEND.

Qualifications

• Enjoys working with children.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Calm and positive in challenging situations.
• Willingness to learn and undertake training.

Responsibilities

• Support delivery of engaging learning activities for individuals, small groups and whole-class sessions.
• Help pupils access the curriculum and develop confidence and independence.
• Support pupils with literacy and numeracy activities; observe and share progress with teachers.
• Promote positive behaviour, inclusion and safeguarding; assist with lunchtime supervision and educational visits.
