Job summary

Fremington Primary School is seeking two Teaching Assistants to join our team for fixed-term roles, supporting learning, wellbeing and development across classroom and small-group settings. You will work under guidance of teaching staff to assist with literacy/numeracy interventions and planning cycles, while helping to maintain a supportive, inclusive environment.

Essential qualities include experience with children, safeguarding knowledge, strong communication, and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Experience working with or caring for children of a relevant age.
• Knowledge of safeguarding practices and strategies to remove barriers to learning.
• Strong communication skills, including confidence and fluency in spoken English.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Desirable: NVQ Level 2 for Teaching Assistants or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Supporting pupils’ welfare and personal care, including those with SEND.
• Implementing literacy and numeracy interventions
• Assisting with planning cycles and preparing learning resources
• Promoting positive behaviour and encouraging pupil independence
• You will also assist with supervision during break/lunchtimes and accompany pupils on trips when required.
