Job summary

Keys Education is seeking a Supported Internship Job Coach to support young adults with SEND at Corbett House, Westonhall Road, Stoke Prior in Bromsgrove. The role offers £33,000 salary (term time only) with mileage expenses, a work laptop, and a mobile phone.

You will work across Birmingham and surrounding areas, providing tailored support, building employer partnerships, and helping interns reach career goals through high-quality employability provision.

Qualifications

• Holds a Level 2 (or above) qualification in English and Mathematics.
• Training in Systematic Instruction (TSI) accreditation or be prepared to train in this prior to supporting interns/students.
• Brings experience supporting interns/students with SEND or delivering training across a range of job roles, alongside a strong understanding of how to meet individual needs and support progression.
• Demonstrate innovative approaches to employer engagement through marketing and promotion in order to identify and secure potential opportunities for paid employment both within and outside the host employer.
• Training or skills and experience in training/coaching, systematic instruction, job, and task analysis.
• Ability to organise own workload and meet strict deadlines.
• Clear and concise report writing and verbal presentation.
• Demonstrates a good understanding of equality legislation, the rights of disabled individuals, and the importance of reasonable adjustments in the workplace.
• Maintains up-to-date subject knowledge to ensure skills remain relevant to the role and the young people supported.
• Offers practical experience and a strong understanding of the sector, with the ability to apply this effectively in real-world settings.
• Works well as part of a team whilst also showing initiatives and confidence when working independently.
• Shows good judgement and a clear awareness of the challenges and support needs of young people.

Responsibilities

• Provide personalised support to young adults on site at employer locations across Birmingham and the surrounding areas, five days a week.
• Coordinate with the SI Coordinator and host employers to support interns/students effectively.
• Support internship tasks using systematic instruction techniques and build natural supports and reasonable adjustments.
• Communicate progress and issues to the team, logging evidence via the RAPRA system.
• Prepare interns for interviews and assist with applications for permanent employment.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to create meaningful opportunities for learners.
