Job summary

Oxfordshire County Council in England is recruiting a Children in Care Support Practitioner. You will work alongside Social Workers to progress children's care plans and provide practical, hands-on support to children, young people and families, helping turn plans into action.

The role involves safeguarding, attending professional meetings, building trusting relationships in homes and communities, and helping secure stable placements while promoting better outcomes for children.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with children, young people or families in social care, education, youth work or related settings.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to adapt your approach to different people and situations.
• Resilient, organised and proactive with the confidence to work independently.
• Comfortable managing sensitive situations and maintaining accurate records.

Responsibilities

• Help progress children's care plans and provide practical, hands-on support to children, young people and families.
• Spend time directly with children and families, often in their homes and communities.
• Build trusting relationships and contribute to safeguarding and decision-making.
• Attend professional meetings and collaborate with partner organisations.
• Turn plans into action to improve outcomes and stable placements.
