Family Service of Rhode Island is seeking a Special Education Teacher for the South County Academy in Exeter, RI. The role involves providing specialized instruction to students with emotional/behavioral and learning needs in a clinical residential school setting.

You will develop and monitor IEPs, coordinate with the management team to ensure safety and wellbeing, and work full-time year-round. RI certification and a teaching degree are required; bilingual abilities are a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Teaching or Education.
• RI Certification in Special Education.
• Experience with children with behavioral/psychiatric challenges.
• Spanish speaking preferred and is compensated.
• Excellent multitasking and communication skills a must.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsabilités

• Provide specialized and individualized instruction for students with emotional/behavioral and learning needs in a residential school setting.
• Develop and monitor student IEPs in accordance with DOE regulations.
• Collaborate with the management team to ensure safety, stability and wellbeing of residents.
