Job summary

Family Service of Rhode Island seeks a dedicated mathematics teacher for a residential high school program in Exeter, RI. You will deliver engaging instruction focused on problem solving, mathematical reasoning and real-world application, and develop and monitor student IEPs in accordance with DOE regulations.

Work with the management team to ensure safety, stability and professional guidance for students with significant emotional/behavioral needs. This is a full-time, year-round position.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Teaching or Education required.
• RI certification as Teacher of regular or special education.
• Knowledge base across subjects (Art, Phys Ed, Science, Math, English, History).
• Experience with children with behavioral/psychiatric challenges.
• Spanish speaking preferred and compensated.
• Excellent multitasking and communication skills required.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Bilingual/ASL skills compensated by 6%; multilingual skills compensated by 8%; master's degree adds $3,000.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging mathematics instruction focused on problem solving, mathematical reasoning and real-world application for high school students in a residential setting.
• Develop and monitor student IEPs in accordance with Department of Education regulations and standards.
