Job summary

Dudley MBC is seeking a part-time Social Worker for the Children's Disability Team in Dudley. The role involves delivering child-centred assessments, care planning, and multidisciplinary collaboration to improve outcomes for children with disabilities and their families.

The post requires a DipSW or equivalent and current Social Work England registration, with a driving licence. There is mileage allowance and flexible working arrangements available.

Qualifications

• DipSW or equivalent social work degree and registration with Social Work England.
• Experience working with children and families.
• Knowledge of current legislation and statutory guidance.
• Excellent assessment, analytical and decision-making skills.
• Full driving licence with access to vehicle and business use insurance.

Responsibilities

• Undertake child-centred assessments and develop care plans reflecting needs and risks identified.
• Deliver protective and supportive services for children at risk, in need, or looked after.
• Maintain accurate case records using the CCM system.
• Attend multi-agency meetings including child protection conferences and court hearings.
• Work directly with children and families to implement care plans and interventions.
• Ensure compliance with statutory obligations, departmental policies, and equal opportunities frameworks.
• Participate in regular supervision and contribute to team development.
