Job summary

Witherslack Group is recruiting a Teaching Assistant for maternity cover at Meadow View in the Chorley area. You’ll work with children and young people with SEND, including Autistic Spectrum Disorder and SEMH, supporting learning, development and self-esteem under the guidance of teachers and therapists.

You’ll receive comprehensive induction, ongoing training and a supportive team in a well-resourced environment.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children in a classroom or school setting.
• Willing to participate in induction and ongoing training.
• Ability to support learners with diverse needs including ASD/SEMH.

Responsibilities

• Assist the class teacher with planned lessons and activities.
• Support pupils to engage, learn and build self-esteem during lessons.
• Collaborate with therapists and school staff to monitor progress.
