Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is partnering with a welcoming secondary school near Coniston to recruit a dedicated Teaching Assistant for KS3–KS4. You will support students, work with the SEN coordinator, and help create an engaging learning environment that removes barriers to learning.

Candidates should have experience with young people in education or care settings, a patient approach, and excellent communication. An enhanced DBS is required or willingness to obtain one.

Qualifications

• Previous experience with young people in education, youth work or care settings.
• Friendly, resilient and patient approach to supporting secondary learners.
• Excellent communication skills and teamwork within a school.
• Strong commitment to safeguarding and student welfare.
• Enhanced DBS on Update Service or willingness to apply for one.

Responsibilities

• Providing targeted 1:1 and small group intervention for students needing support.
• Supporting classroom management and assisting with lesson prep and delivery.
• Helping students build confidence, independence and social skills.
• Assisting with IEPs and tracking student progress.
• Promoting an inclusive, safe, positive learning environment.
