Job summary

Lancashire County Council is recruiting a Residential Child Care Worker for the SPACE Hubs in Central Lancashire. The role offers £29,071 - £33,119 per annum, permanent full-time (37 hours per week) with a rota including days, evenings, weekends and sleep-ins.

The SPACE Hubs provide Diversion, Reunification, Stabilisation and Tailored support as part of a modernised residential care strategy. DBS disclosure is required.

Qualifications

• Experience working with older children & young people in a community-based setting.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build meaningful relationships.
• Understanding of safeguarding legislation surrounding children's care.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to respond to challenging behaviour.

Responsibilities

• Deliver early intervention and targeted support to families.
• Work with children, young people, parents and carers in homes and community settings.
• Plan and lead purposeful activities to build confidence and relationships.
• Collaborate with schools, social workers and other professionals for coordinated support.
