Job summary

Lancashire County Council is seeking a Residential Child Care Worker for the SPACE Hub in Lancaster. You will deliver early intervention and targeted support to families, working in homes and community settings to promote emotional wellbeing and resilience.

You will plan activities, collaborate with schools and social workers, and support children, young people and parents to achieve positive, lasting outcomes. Some shifts include evenings, weekends and sleep-ins.

Qualifications

• Experience working with older children & young people in a community-based setting.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build meaningful relationships.
• Understanding of the needs of children and the relevant legislation surrounding their care.
• Excellent communication skills, and the ability to respond appropriately to challenging behaviour.

Responsibilities

• Plan and lead purposeful activities to build confidence and strengthen relationships.
