Job summary

St Margaret’s School is seeking a Pupil Support Assistant to join our committed junior school team. This post would suit a proven team player who is adaptable and enjoys working with children.

The successful candidate will be proficient in literacy and numeracy, will have a good awareness of a variety of support needs and will be willing to develop their own knowledge and skills in order that they make a positive contribution to the learning of pupils within our lively and dynamic school.

Qualifications

• Safeguarding of pupils is the highest priority and PVG checks are required.
• Two satisfactory references are essential for appointment.

Responsibilities

• Supervising and supporting children in settings including dining room and playground.
• Supporting small groups of learners while they work on tasks.
• Assisting individual learners with work across the curriculum.
• Helping children develop social skills and assisting with learning environment prep.
• Observing and recording learners’ progress and assisting with assessments.
• Responding to minor accidents and administering First Aid.
• Keeping abreast of educational developments relevant to learners’ needs.
