Job summary

Opencast is hiring a Business Analyst (Consultant) to join cross-functional teams delivering client-facing digital services. You will translate stakeholder needs into actionable requirements and shape epics, user stories and acceptance criteria while ensuring GOV.UK standards and security policies are met.

The role requires weekly on-site work with travel to client sites across the UK, and a strong emphasis on collaboration, problem solving and delivering measurable impact for government,

Qualifications

• Recent government/public sector experience or delivering complex digital services.
• Apply BA techniques to understand business context, processes and systems.
• Elicit, analyse, validate and prioritise business and user requirements using BPMN, wireframes and data analysis.
• Define epics, features, user stories, acceptance criteria and non-functional requirements; maintain traceability.
• Use business modelling, process improvement and digital/data systems analysis to represent organisations and processes; identify gaps and recommend improvements.
• Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships and cross-functional teams, communicating clearly and adapting messages.
• Analyse and prioritise user experience needs, presenting insights in a data-informed way.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate in multi-disciplinary teams with product managers, software developers, user researchers and designers to deliver meaningful solutions for clients.
• Build strong relationships with client stakeholders and translate needs into clear requirements.
• Ensure work meets high standards, including quality, environmental and information security policies.
