Job summary

Spectrum Community Health CIC in Manchester is seeking a salaried GP to join an MDT delivering primary care within HMP Forest Bank. Each session includes 8 face-to-face appointments; reception cover 5pm–9pm will be discussed.

The post emphasises care for vulnerable groups and aims to reduce health inequalities. The role provides comprehensive GP duties, including prescribing, chronic disease monitoring, and end-of-life care under NICE guidelines, with training available for prison health

Qualifications

• UK recognised medical qualification.
• Certificate of Vocational Training.
• RCGP Substance Misuse Part 1 qualification.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and learning.

Responsibilities

• Provide face-to-face GP clinical services, including reception cover 5pm–9pm (Mon–Fri).
• Carry out full clinical assessments, formulate differential diagnoses and management plans.
• Prescribe medications, request/interpret investigations and refer for specialist/secondary care as needed.
• Manage chronic diseases per NICE guidance and contribute to offender health in a secure setting.
