Job summary

Castle Phoenix Multi‑Academy Trust is seeking a Teaching Assistant to support pupils in a busy primary setting. The role is part-time, term-time only with teacher training days, and involves 8:20 am to 4:00 pm across three days, with a half-hour unpaid break.

The successful candidate will work under teaching staff, supporting reading and curriculum activities to help children progress academically and socially, while maintaining high standards of progress and well-being.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with children across the primary age range.
• Experience of working with SEN pupils.
• Knowledge and understanding of child development.
• A desire to further develop their skills.
• Strong numeracy and literacy skills.
• An approachable and resilient attitude.
• A passion for supporting children to be the best they can be.
• Motivation to work with children and young people.
• Ability to form and maintain appropriate relationships and personal boundaries with children and young people.
• Emotional resilience in working with challenging behaviours.
• Attitudes to use of authority and maintaining discipline.

Responsibilities

• Work with designated pupils, small groups and 1:1 to prepare resources and deliver high quality interventions.
• Support individual reading and other curriculum activities to help children blossom and grow.
