Job summary

Vision for Education Ltd in Dursley is looking for Primary Classroom Assistants to support local primary schools. You’ll work alongside teachers and other support staff, helping pupils with their learning and keeping them engaged throughout the day.

There are opportunities across different year groups, including roles with SEND and additional needs. Enhanced DBS is required (or willingness to apply) and Right to Work in the UK is essential.

Qualifications

• Enhanced DBS is required or be willing to apply for one.
• Right to Work in the UK is required.
• Previous school experience is useful but isn’t essential.

Responsibilities

• Support the teacher during lessons.
• Work with individual pupils and small groups.
• Help children understand and complete their work.
• Support reading, writing, maths and other activities.
• Provide 1:1 support where required.
• Help pupils with SEND access their learning.
• Encourage positive behaviour and good classroom routines.
• Build children's confidence and independence.
• Support social and communication skills.
• Help create a positive and well-managed classroom.
