Job summary

North Gosforth Academy is seeking a dedicated Support Assistant to join the Learning Support department. You will assist with learning, behaviour and attendance needs, supporting students across various activities and catering to diverse needs.

The role supports a team committed to student welfare and progress, with opportunities to contribute across the Gosforth Group and engage in professional development within a supportive school community.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of SEND and inclusive practice.
• Experience supporting students with learning needs or disabilities.
• Strong organisational and time-management abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to high-quality student support and welfare.

Responsibilities

• Support students with learning activities and behavioural/attendance needs as appropriate.
• Work collaboratively with the Learning Support Department to keep information up-to-date for class teachers.
• Assist in enabling students to access the curriculum and participate fully in lessons.
• Be an approachable and supportive presence for students, staff and families.
