Job summary

Eden Brown Synergy is seeking an experienced Social Worker to join Luton Council's Looked After Children (LAC) Team. The role focuses on safeguarding, care planning and ensuring positive outcomes for children in care, with statutory responsibilities and multi-agency collaboration.

The successful candidate will hold a Social Work qualification and current registration with Social Work England, with a minimum of three years' post-qualification UK Local Authority experience in children's services.

Qualifications

• Social Work qualification and registration with Social Work England.
• Minimum of 3 years' post-qualification experience in a UK Local Authority.
• Experience with Looked After Children and children's statutory services.
• Strong assessment, care planning and report-writing skills.
• Ability to work effectively with children, families and multi-agency professionals.

Responsibilities

• Managing a caseload of Looked After Children, ensuring their welfare and safety remain a priority.
• Undertaking assessments and developing care plans to meet children's individual needs.
• Conducting statutory visits and completing reviews in line with legislative requirements.
• Working collaboratively with foster carers, families, IROs and other professionals.
• Supporting permanence planning and ensuring timely decision-making for children.
• Preparing reports and maintaining accurate case records in accordance with statutory guidance.
• Promoting the voice, wishes and feelings of children and young people in care.
