Job summary

Waingels School is seeking an enthusiastic Intervention & Inclusion Para‑Educator to support pupils with personalised learning needs and to contribute to a positive and inclusive learning environment. You will work under the SENCO and teaching staff to deliver targeted support, help with class activities, supervise short-term cover and assist with admin tasks to keep lessons on track.

Qualifications

• GCSEs (English & Maths) 5 or more including grade C/4 or above.
• A Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) in a relevant subject.
• Experience working with children or young people.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team.
• Excellent organisational skills, able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Flexible, constructive and positive approach to supporting students with range of needs.
• High level of professionalism, confidentiality and safeguarding awareness.

Responsibilities

• Support students through one-to-one and small-group intervention work.
• Assist teachers in preparing, delivering and monitoring personalised learning activities and materials.
• Contribute to behaviour support, emotional wellbeing and student engagement.
• Provide short-term teacher cover and supervise work as directed.
• Assist with classroom organisation, resources, record-keeping and admin tasks.
• Support students during social times, ensuring a safe, inclusive environment.
• Collaborate with staff, parents and professionals involved in the learning journey.
