Job summary

Gentoo Group in Sunderland is seeking 2 experienced Support Coordinators for 6-month fixed-term contracts. You will support people to thrive in their homes, sustain tenancies, and access the required support to live independently.

A full UK driving licence and a basic DBS check are required; you will work across the City of Sunderland, collaborating with partner agencies and Local Neighbourhood Teams to improve services and outcomes.

Qualifications

• An understanding of the challenges facing social housing providers and the diverse needs of customers.
• Knowledge of housing legislation, regulatory standards and Tenant Satisfaction Measures.
• An understanding of safeguarding, substance misuse, mental health and customer vulnerability.

Responsibilities

• Deliver person-centred support that empowers customers to achieve their goals, sustain their tenancy and live independently.
• Assess individual needs and develop tailored support plans with internal teams and partner agencies.
• Provide guidance on rights, responsibilities and housing-related life skills.
• Manage a caseload, review progress and adapt support accordingly.
• Identify safeguarding concerns and respond to risks and vulnerabilities early.
• Maintain accurate, timely records of all interactions and support provided.
• Build strong relationships with external partners and specialist services.
