Job summary

BRC Jobs in Bristol is seeking a committed Support Worker to assist individuals facing homelessness in a short-stay service. You will provide structured, person-centred support to help clients move toward independent living and long-term goals.

You will work a 9-week rolling rota with early and late shifts, including weekends, on a 2-3 month temporary contract. Potential for permanent employment and ongoing training are offered.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting individuals facing homelessness.
• Knowledge of homelessness challenges and vulnerability.
• Understanding of psychologically informed environments and trauma-aware practice.

Responsibilities

• Deliver person-centred support to help clients progress toward independent living.
• Build therapeutic relationships using trauma-informed approaches.
• Facilitate client meetings and support client participation in decisions.
• Develop, implement and review individual support plans within required timeframes.
• Work one-to-one with clients to achieve goals and positive outcomes.
• Help clients maximise benefits and manage finances per their plans.
• Collaborate with colleagues to design in-house support programmes.
• Coordinate tasks with assistant workers to ensure plans are carried out.
• Identify and refer to external services when needed.
• Complete and review client assessments and risk assessments to ensure safety.
