Job summary

PeoplePlus is seeking a dedicated Functional Skills Tutor to deliver City & Guilds Maths from Entry 1 to Level 2 in a prison education setting. You will teach up to 12 learners, using inclusive methods and digital resources to make Maths and English relevant and accessible while supporting learners on their rehabilitation journey.

You will conduct initial assessments with BKSB, develop ILPs, plan engaging lessons, and work with prison staff to support progression, examinations and positive

Qualifications

• Deliver Functional Skills Maths qualifications from Entry 1 to Level 2.
• Deliver engaging and inclusive lessons to groups of up to 12 learners.
• Use BKSB diagnostics to identify learner starting points.
• Develop and maintain Individual Learning Plans (ILPs).
• Create engaging lesson plans to support progression and achievement.
• Promote literacy, numeracy and reading for pleasure in prison education.
• Adapt teaching methods to meet diverse learner needs.
• Support learners with additional learning needs and reasonable adjustments.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Functional Skills Maths qualifications from Entry 1 to Level 2.
• Create engaging lesson plans and monitor learner progress.
• Prepare learners for examinations and assessments.
• Collaborate with prison staff, support practitioners and employability teams.
