Job summary

Aberdeen plc, based in Edinburgh, is seeking an early‑career Financial Reporting & Control Analyst to support month‑end reporting, financial control activities and statutory/regulatory reporting. You will work closely with Financial Controllers, gaining exposure to budgeting and commercial insight in a blended working environment.

The role offers development of technical expertise, stakeholder management skills and a pathway to senior finance responsibilities within the UK & EMEA team.

Qualifications

• Part‑qualified accountant studying towards a recognised accounting qualification.
• Understanding of accounting principles, financial statements and month‑end reporting processes.
• Experience in financial analysis or finance operations.
• Ability to analyse financial information and present clear, concise commentary.
• Comfortable working with financial systems and data; Oracle or similar ERP exposure is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Support monthly legal entity financial analysis, including statutory and regulatory reporting, P&L and balance sheet commentary and management information.
• Prepare balance sheet reviews, reconciliations and supporting analysis to maintain strong financial control and data integrity.
• Assist with statutory accounts, regulatory returns and audit deliverables, working with internal teams, outsourced providers and auditors.
• Support technical accounting, local GAAP analysis, tax balances and entity‑specific disclosures.
• Contribute to forecasting, budgeting and financial planning processes, explaining key movements and trends.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, reporting efficiency, documentation and use of financial data.
