Job summary

Derby City Council is seeking a Part Time Family Visitor to provide practical support and guidance to families with young children within the locality. The role involves delivering outreach casework and group activities, working with partners to ensure high-quality early help services across the city.

The successful applicant will have at least 2 years of direct work with children and families in a multi‑agency setting, with NVQ 3 in Childcare or related field.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years' experience of direct work with children, young people and families in a multi‑agency setting.
• Contribute to assessment, planning, creation, implementation and evaluation of service plans.
• Experience working with parents and carers in partnership settings.

Responsibilities

• Provide practical support and guidance to young children and their families using a strength-based approach.
• Deliver casework (outreach) and group-based activities.
• Collaborate with a range of practitioners to deliver high-quality early help services.
