Job summary

East London NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Band 8A systemic psychotherapist to join the Emotional and Behavioural CAMHS team in South Bedfordshire. The post focuses on systemic assessment and therapy for young people, with a focus on family involvement and group delivery.

You will co-facilitate family clinics and evidence-based systemic interventions, working closely with families, carers and schools, while maintaining strong multi‑agency links.

Qualifications

• Post-graduate qualification in a relevant mental health or social welfare profession.
• Masters or Diploma in Family and Systemic Psychotherapy, UKCP accredited.
• UKCP registration with CPD commitment.
• Minimum of three years’ practice in a relevant field.
• Qualified systemic family psychotherapist with at least 2 years’ experience, or newly qualified with substantial experience.
• Significant CAMHS experience.
• Specialist systemic assessment, formulation and intervention skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide systemic assessment and therapeutic interventions for young people with moderate to severe mental health difficulties.
• Work closely with families, carers and wider support networks.
• Co-facilitate family therapy clinics and evidence-based systemic interventions.
• Co-facilitate groups such as Non-Violent Resistance where appropriate.
• Undertake generic CAMHS assessments where required.
• Contribute to multidisciplinary assessment and treatment pathways.
• Work autonomously while staying connected to the team.
• Collaborate with parent carers, schools and partner agencies.
