Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
• A degree in English, English Literature, Linguistics, or closely related discipline.
• Proven experience teaching English across KS3 and KS4 in a UK secondary school.
• Passion for promoting high standards of reading, writing, and communication across age groups.
• Strong classroom management skills (as stated in requirements).

Responsibilities

• Teach English Language and English Literature across KS3 and KS4 (AQA specification).
• Deliver A-Level English Literature or Language teaching (optional, depending on experience).
• Plan and deliver engaging, well-structured lessons to enhance literacy and textual analysis.
• Adapt teaching to support diverse learning needs (SEND/EAL).
• Prepare KS4 pupils for GCSE examinations.
• Maintain a calm, positive classroom environment rooted in respect and clear expectations.
• Contribute to departmental planning, moderation, and literacy initiatives.
