Job summary

The Supply Register, on behalf of Lewisham College, invites an enthusiastic Employment and Skills Trainer to design and deliver high‑quality employability programmes that prepare unemployed learners for sustainable work. You’ll work with employers and colleagues to tailor training that develops the skills, knowledge and behaviours valued by employers.

You’ll support learners throughout their journey, assess progress, maintain records and contribute to curriculum development, ensuring training

Qualifications

• A relevant vocational or professional qualification.
• A recognised teaching or training qualification (PTTLS or equivalent).
• Experience delivering employability, vocational or work-based training.
• Experience designing engaging learning resources, including digital materials.
• Experience developing training that meets employer and business needs.
• Good knowledge of using technology to support teaching and learning.
• Strong communication, presentation and coaching skills.
• The ability to motivate, inspire and build learners' confidence.
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
• A collaborative approach, with experience building positive relationships with employers, colleagues and other stakeholders.
• A commitment to high-quality teaching, continuous improvement and your own professional development.
• A positive, proactive attitude and a genuine commitment to helping learners achieve their goals.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging employability training and workshops.
• Develop high-quality learning resources, including digital materials.
• Assess learner work and provide constructive feedback.
• Support learners through induction, tutorials and progression planning.
• Maintain accurate learner records and monitor progress.
• Build positive relationships with employers and internal teams.
• Contribute to curriculum development, quality improvement and self-assessment.
• Keep your knowledge of employability, industry practice and teaching up to date.
